Echo of Soul first community-lead Team Arena Tournament! ( Rough Draft )

Hello everyone!

Today I'm officially announcing EoS's first Team Arena tournament! Some of you may know by now, that I've been talking to players, Guilds, and the GM's asking if they're interested in helping me get people queuing more often in Team Arenas. I've received a ton of support in this matter, and now it's time to use that support to get some competition going!

Players may start registering their teams here, on the official forums. Registration is simple. Just fill out the required fields below, and you're considered registered for the tournament. You have from now, until July 6th to get the best gear you can, and practice with your teams. On the 6th, we'll start matching teams and get the tournament started!

Also below is the "Donations" post. There, players and Guilds may choose to donate rewards to help motivate players to form a team and, to reward top-placing teams who show they've got what it takes to be the best in Echo of Soul!

How it works:

Teams will be randomly chosen to compete against each other through an random number generator. Once the teams have been selected, you will be notified here on the forums, and in-game to figure out a date to have your match. The match must be completed within two ( 2 ) days of being selected. The match itself is best of 3, and the winning team advances while the losing team drops out of the tournament.

Rewards:

All teams that participate will receive rewards. However, the lion's share will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Since the total amount of donations at this time is unclear, this will be figured out as the event nears completion.

As there are rules and regulations with just about everything in life, there's some here too. Please read through them carefully prior to registering your teams and donating rewards. Ignorance on these rules may cost you, so actually read them!

Player and Team Rules:

- Players must register a full team here on the forums.

- Players may only use ilvl 100 PvP gear ( Hero Badge gear )

- No Gems are permitted in the tournament.

- No Support Equipment or Pet Whistles.

- Teams must have one of each class. No alternate paths ie: Either a Fire Mage or an Ice Mage. Not both.

- Selected teams need to be in the staging area 10 minutes before the match.

- Each team must have one person recording the match as soon as they enter. The recording needs to be uploaded to YouTube, and linked on the forums.

- Once inside the arena, players need to meet in the center to perform a 'gear check'. There's ample time to do so, and it helps ensure players are locked into required gear.

- If for some really weird reason there's a draw, the teams restart the match IF they both have 1 win.

- Players caught cheating will result in their team being automatically disqualified. No exceptions.

- Should teams be caught trying to establish a pre-determined winner, all teams involved will be disqualified. Uh, basically, if you convicts try to do some shady deals setting up who's the winners/losers, all involved will be disqualified.

- If a full team does not show up for a match, it's considered a "Loss".

- Should a player disconnect, you'll just have to deal with it. You can ask the opposing team if they'd agree to a restart of that specific match, but officially, I'm not going to say they have to accept. It's not that I'm inconsiderate, it's just I've seen this abused before several times.

- All donations will be non-refundable. The GM's, the teams competing, and I appreciate your contribution. But please be certain you're okay with what you decide to donate. I don't want to have to tell people at the last minute that their rewards have been pulled.

Donations:

Players may donate prizes and gold to reward players brave enough to enter the tournament. Donations will be collected by _________ and held until after the tournament has completed. If a player decides to donate, please send an in-game mail to _______ and take a screenshot of the donation(s) prior to sending and post the image here or, send it to me. Either way, I need to see the screenshot to keep the "Donations" list up-to-date. Once every few days I'll verify with _____ to ensure that he's received the donations that players have posted on the forums.

Donation Guidelines:

Preferred items- Level 60 Potions, Scrolls, end-game crafted consumables, small amounts of item mall items and of course, gold! You get the picture. Basically, if you'd like to have it, chances are those that participate would too.

Please refrain from big ticket items like mounts, random costumes, Jack of all Trades etc. This tournament isn't all about the prizes. It's more about a community that realizes one aspect isn't doing so hot, and trying to do something about it.

That's it! Thanks to all in advance that are planning to donate, and thanks to _____ for agreeing to be the community backpack! Good luck to all teams that are going to enter.

*That's all I got for now. Some of this will be posted in different reserved posts on Monday. This is just a rough draft.*

How's the mobile version of the site?

Playing around with some basic templates to make it easier to look at the site. The one I have now's pretty standard, and shows well on my Windows phone. Anyone having problems with it?

Survey Results!

Unfortunately, the survey site I used had a cap on how many people can participate when not paying 30 bucks a month. That said, only 100 players were allowed to participate. Even though there were only 100 participates, I believe the data can be accurately used to formulate how people feel regarding PvP in EoS. I think that had there been more responses, it would have shown the same general line of thinking that the players that took the survey, had shown. So here's the results!

Thanks to all that took the survey!
