Free Arena in Echo of Soul is a 5v5 deathmatch between two teams. Players fight in one of two maps to be the last team standing for bragging rights and Fighter Badges. Unlike Mettle's Theater and Tribulation's Vale Battlegrounds, these matches are very quick; generally under five minutes despite having a ten minute timer. Partaking in Free Arena helps put you on a path to your next PvP gear set: 103. This set is needed for our current BiS ( Best in Slot ) PvP gear, which is 109. You need 103 to trade-in for the 109 set, so get to queuing!
Basic Information:
- 5v5 TDM

Maps:
Aceldama 1-This map is a standard gladiator-ish styled map, that's pretty minimal in terms of features. There are several tower-like statutes to hide behind and LoS ( Line of Sight ) the enemy ranged players.

Aceldama 2- For lack of a better name, I'll just call this map "Aceldama 2". I can't seem to find its actual name, though I could have sworn it was called "Arcane Aceldama". Anyways, this map is extremely annoying for ranged DPS. There's this structure in the center of the map that can be traversed and LoS pretty much everyone. Not only can you LoS players on the structure, but you can just continue around it to do the same thing.

Tips:
- Ranged DPS, prepare to have a harder time than in Battlegrounds. There you have lots of room to kite ( stay away from melee ), here you do not.
- Make sure you get your free potions and scrolls before you start the match.
- AoE's aren't as effective here as they are in BG's and Valhalla. Consider swapping some of your skills for more single-target damage.
- Try to kill Duelists and Mages first. If it's an Ice Mage, do your best to LoS her until her shields are down.
- Mark targets. If you're the party leader, you should be marking priority targets for all to attack. It works.
- You can join Free Arena with a party of three. Consider doing so for an advantage over opposing teams that are not in a party.
- Melee classes have an easier time in Free and Team Arenas due to the small, enclosed space. Enjoy.
- If your party ends up being all ranged classes, think about staying at your spawn location. By doing so, it forces the opposing team to come to you. And to get to you, is to go down a small hallway or stairs; perfect for a ton of AoE damage.
- Peel for people! If a melee is humping your teams Bard or Mage, help them!
- Ranged classes should consider using Soul of Peace in the Arenas to get out of melee CC locks.
- Scroll other players if you're okay on HP!
I hope this information and tips help you out in your Free Arena battles! This is a really fun game mode in my opinion, and needs more players to queue for it. See you on the battlefield!
